About The Author

Andy started in the building materials supply industry in May of 1997 in Syracuse, NY and quickly found a home working with the trades .  He became an expert at helping businesses choose the right products for their project.

In 2002 he became the youngest store manager working for the privately held lumberyard chain where he started.  Recruited by a large, publicly traded building materials dealer in 2007, he developed their outside sales presence in Rochester, NY.  Since then he’s expanded his reach down the entire east coast and as far west as Texas, working with property managers and real estate developers with projects and holdings in multiple states.

He acts as a purchasing & procurement consultant and advisor for his customers, helping them structure and plan how they buy.  Andy learned the business directly from the best source – his clients. By inquiring about how and why they operate the way they do, he is able to better understand the varied approaches different businesses use in the field.  Through understanding the vision, goals, and priorities of his customers, Andy can better advise them on how to best integrate his solutions into their procurement supply chain.

Andy has experience working as a resource on hundreds of projects over the last 20 years, from single room remodels to the construction of hotels, restaurants, apartment complexes, student housing and more.  He takes a proactive approach to project management on the procurement side, identifying challenges before they happen and putting systems in place to avoid issues with supply.

He attended LeMoyne college in Syracuse, NY and has earned and maintained CAPS, CGA and CGP certifications from the National Association of Home Builders.  Andy is active with various local and national trade organizations & networking groups, including the Freedom First Real Estate Investment Association, (a local affiliate member of the National Real Estate Investors Association), the Rochester Home Builders Association, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the National Kitchen and Bath Association.  Since 2016, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Upstate Building Industry Alliance, based in Rochester, NY.

Andy grew up in the suburbs of Syracuse, NY and moved to the Rochester area in 2003.  Currently he lives in the country near Lake Ontario with his wife, 4-year-old son, and their German Shepherd.  He enjoys craft beer, quality Scotch, and cooking on his Weber ® Grill or in his Big Green Egg ®. In his “spare time”, he enjoys reading, working around the yard, on his vehicles, and on his 1950’s farmhouse making various improvements.
